Seminar on Traumatic Brain Injury and Neurosurgery

April 7, 2024 · In: Seminars

On Friday, April 5th, Scalpel Society had the pleasure of hosting an enlightening seminar led by Dr. Judith Marcoux. The focus of her presentation was on traumatic brain injury, a topic she explored with exceptional depth. Dr. Marcoux provided a comprehensive analysis, offering insight into the global and Montreal-specific statistics that underscore the prevalence and impact of these injuries. She meticulously explained the severity classifications based on the Glasgow Coma Scale, enriching our understanding of this critical issue.

Additionally, she showcased a selection of case studies. Students were tasked with identifying the issues based on her teachings about the Glasgow Coma Scale and the primary and secondary injuries discussed earlier. The seminar concluded with students actively engaging in a Q&A session, eagerly inquiring about various facets of her career.
