On October 30th, Scalpel Society and Top Gun hosted a suturing workshop with Dr. Calvin Diep, a Cardiac Surgery resident at UdeM. The signup sheet was filled up quickly, and over 50 students eagerly added their names to the waitlist. Although we were unable to accommodate everyone interested in learning to suture, we will definitely be hosting more workshops in the winter 2025 semester!
Dr. Diep, along with the Scalpel Society and Top Gun executives, guided participants through the fundamentals of suturing. They shared valuable tips on technique, precision, and the proper handling of surgical tools. Each participant had the opportunity to practice their stitches on simulation pads.

As with any Scalpel Society event, we ended the evening with great company and food, wrapping up a productive workshop with a small pizza party. It was a perfect blend of learning, skill-building, and camaraderie. (:
If you missed this one, don’t stress—more workshops are in the works! Stay tuned to our socials for updates, and we can’t wait to see you at the next event.
