Medical Ethics Roundtable

May 3, 2025 · In: Events, New

On March 19th, after classes had wrapped up for the day, Scalpel Society had the pleasure of hosting a Medical Ethics Roundtable featuring the insightful and engaging Dr. Christina Greenfield. An orthopedic surgery resident, former corporate lawyer, and proud Marianopolis alumna, Dr. Greenfield brought a unique and multifaceted perspective to the conversation.

The roundtable explored a wide range of compelling topics, including:

  • Ethical dilemmas in informed consent
  • Cultural and religious beliefs in treatment decisions
  • Resource allocation during crises
  • Ethical responsibility in medical errors

What followed was a lively and thought-provoking discussion, with students openly debating different points of view. The result was one of our most dynamic and well-received events to date.

We are incredibly grateful to Dr. Greenfield and hope to welcome her back in the future. Medical ethics remains a vital but often overlooked area in healthcare education, and this event reminded us just how powerful those conversations can be.

Thank you to all those who attended the event! Be sure to sign up for next year’s!
